It’s Saturday morning,

…you’re enjoying your weekly ritual of no alarm clock and lingering a few extra minutes wrapped in that pricey duvet (soooo worth the investment) before heading into a day of adulting.

You’re scrolling through your social media feed, bombarded with a sea of posts that all look the same.

Nothing stands out. *scrolls past another TikTok dance trend*

Nothing grabs your attention. *mindlessly double taps on a cute cat video*

It’s a monotonous blend of muted colors and copycat content….oh, look at that, another post about so and so and their picture-perfect home straight that looks like it came straight off an HGTV special.

But then, a burst of color catches your eye—someone posted something against the grain. Something that makes you sit up and pay attention, like that double espresso you’re nursing, just kicked in.

It’s bright, it’s bold, and it makes you wonder…why haven’t I noticed this brand/creator/business before?

That’s the fizz, baby! (aka your USP, but we think fizzzzz is a lot cooler)

And I’m here to show you exactly how (and why) we think you should find ways to tap into yours!

*Pop* *Bubble* *Fizzzzz*

You might be wondering, what exactly is this fizz I’m talking about?

There’s something so oddly satisfying about cracking open a soda can or popping a bottle of bubbly – that sizzly sound is an announcement that fun is on the way and your palate better prepare itself for what’s about to cross the threshold.

Well, imagine your brand as an effervescent and refreshing beverage—the fizz represents that special something that makes it sparkle, stand out, and captivate your audience. It’s that intangible quality that sets you apart from the sea of sameness.

Everyone and everything thing has the fizz. I don’t care if you’re pushing candles or cattle. There’s a fizzy little focal point for every entrepreneur, brand, and business.

In a world where everyone is playing it safe, it’s the bold brands that rise above the noise. Don’t believe me? Take note while watching those Super Bowl commercials this year. Some of the most off-the-cuff, weird marketing ideas are thrown at the wall, and the ones that make BIG statements…stick.

Then, we all spend the next day eating leftover chili cheese dip, talking about what crazy commercials are stuck on repeat in our heads. Which is the point…right?

Making an impression isn’t all just flashy visuals, though; it’s about making a statement, leaving a lasting impression – regardless of what media you’re using.

When your brand embraces what makes it unique (aka the fizzzzz), it becomes unforgettable.

Think of the iconic red of Coca-Cola or the striking simplicity of Apple’s logo. These brands dared to be different, and their boldness paid off.

The moral of the story here is bold = better (within reason). If you’re not challenging yourself or your brand, then you’ll be like Stitch without his ohana – left behind and forgotten.

It’s Me, Hi, I’m the Problem…

I wouldn’t say that you’re the problem per se.  You’re still here, which means you’re ready to tackle the fizz and find out what makes you….well….you.

You see, now that you know what the fizz is and some idea of what it should look like, it’s time to uncork that bottle and let the bubbles flooooowwww. By bubbles, I mean ideas – obvs.

Creativity is the secret ingredient that fuels brand success. So you’re going to want to think outside the box, push boundaries, and surprise your audience (in a T-Swift dropping a new album way, not a Britney shaving her head way).

Speaking of T-Swift, she’s not afraid to lean into rumors to make them work for her rather than against her, she capitalizes on her loyal fans to promote her, and she doesn’t mind airing some dirty laundry (or a breakup) for the sake of a hit song…or two…or three.

She uses what’s put on her plate to force her into formulating creative ways to get things done. Whether it’s promos, publicity, or just positive PR – thinking outside the box gets the work done.

So how can you channel your inner Taylor Swift? Consider where you want to go and what you have in front of you to get you there.

Explore innovative content strategies that captivate and engage.

Tell stories that evoke emotion and create a connection.

Break away from the conventional norms and challenge the status quo.

Remember, creativity isn’t just reserved for artists and designers—it’s a mindset that anyone can adopt and something that will have you selling multi-platinum albums…or, you know, whatever else you plan on selling *wink wink*

#nofilter – Shedding Filters for Feelings

Now that you know how to think and act like a millionaire, let’s deflate that balloon a bit and come back down to Earth.

I’m not saying we aren’t here to be the best we can be (#sixfigureincome); I’m saying it’s just as important to be authentic as it is to be successful. Once you crack the code – both come effortlessly, I promise.  

In a world of filters and facades, authenticity is a breath of fresh air. Think about when you scroll through your Instagram feed past a bunch of heavily filtered models and eventually come across a small-business creator showing a BTS video creating their products. It just FEELS different.

You want to engage, you want to comment, and you might even want to be friends with that person. THEN you may even be swayed to check out their website and purchase something – all because they weren’t sugar-coating the process and posting a picture-perfect product. They opened up and shared their world with you.

You need to do the same. Embrace your brand’s uniqueness, let your personality shine, and create meaningful connections with your audience. Authenticity builds trust, and trust builds loyalty.

Share your brand’s story and show the human side of your business. Even if that means snipping together some bloopers or giving a peek behind the curtain. Heck, maybe you’re creating your products by hand and had a total BOMB of a project that came out looking like Dr. Finkelstein hobbled it together (bonus points if you know who that is – you’re my people).

The world craves genuine experiences, so dare to be real and let your authenticity become the forefront of your biz.

Poppin’ Bottles with the Best of Them

Okay, it’s time to grab a drink. Top off that coffee, pour some bourbon, crack open a beer, however, you want to kick back and relax because that’s all she wrote.

The secret of the fizz and how you can start finding yours is in your hands. Of course, we had to keep some secrets to ourselves; otherwise, what good would we be? David Copperfield would be significantly less impressive if he told us how he could show up halfway across the world in a split second (or whatever his best trick is).
